The Global Partnership recently participated in the 5th UN World Data Forum (UNWDF) held in Medellín, Colombia. The event gathered leaders, data practitioners, and advocates from around the world to explore how data can drive transformative change. Our engagement before and during the event focused on the power of data through partnerships, highlighting the critical role collaboration plays in building robust and inclusive data systems.

As part of the preparations for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4) in June 2025, a Multi-Stakeholder Hearing took place in New York the week of October 28, 2024.

Ahead of the fifth United Nations World Data Forum (UNWDF), the Commit to Data campaign encouraged commitments that are actionable, impactful, and inclusive. Governments, the private sector, civil society, academia, and more joined the campaign, including several initiatives of the Global Partnership.

The Government of Suriname and the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data are excited to launch a new report with findings and policy recommendations following a collaborative pilot project using Earth Observations (EO) data to analyze the environmental changes caused by artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) in Suriname.
