In February 2025, the Global Partnership was part of the Capacity Accelerator Network (CAN) convening in Delhi, hosted by data.org. This event brought together the brightest minds in climate and health data. It showcased the power of data capacity building in addressing the intersectional impacts of climate change on public health.
Through our collaboration with data.org, we’ve supported CAN Africa fellows in developing critical skills and knowledge to tackle climate and health challenges. The event highlighted their journey and the vital role these emerging data scientists play in driving change on the ground.

A special focus was placed on the fellowship programs, where CAN fellows from Africa and India had the opportunity to share their impactful work. The Global Partnership was proud to contribute to the program’s success, with several of our CAN Africa fellows presenting their experiences and the progress of their work within their respective communities. Their insights into how data-driven solutions can enhance resilience to climate-related health challenges were invaluable.
The event included impactful panels, lightning talks, and the launch of the CAN India Playbook, which documents collective learnings in creating data-driven ecosystems for climate and health.
This convening marks a critical moment as we move towards sustaining the long-term impact of data capacity building in Africa and India, enabling us to forge a future where data can make a lasting difference in public health outcomes.
