The world is collectively failing to meet development targets and mitigate the effects of climate change. We need to bend the curve before it is too late.
To address systemic and critical issues in development, we are working with our network to:
- Make inclusion the norm, putting people at the center of data production, sharing, and use so that their experience is visible, and the power of data is used to fight inequality.
- Strengthen national data systems that use data and technology from across the public and private sectors for timely decision making.
- Shape how data is governed, ensuring it is accountable to those whom the data is intended to serve.
Within this work, we are bringing a focused lens to three pressing development challenges where the right data, used well, can catalyze progress on climate and health, agriculture and food security, and AI in development.

Data at the intersection of climate and health
Many climate-related diseases are preventable and treatable, but addressing them requires timely, localized, and inclusive data.
By developing the skills of data professionals and government institutions and working to institutionalize the use of citizen data, we’re bringing our expertise to improve public health responses, resource allocation, and emergency response protocols.
Transforming food and agricultural systems with data
The world runs on food, but our agricultural and food systems are facing stark challenges. Data plays a vital role in tackling these challenges, yet it remains an underutilized tool.
We close the gap between agricultural data and policy dialogue to advance sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food systems.
AI in development: It all starts with data
AI can’t be fair if the data it’s built on isn’t.
As a trusted convener we leverage expertise from a 700+ strong network to build the data foundations that can make AI work for sustainable development.
