The Institute of Global Homelessness (IGH) drives a global movement to end street homelessness. Our vision is a world where everyone has a home that offers security, safety, autonomy, and opportunity.
We work towards that vision by:
- leveraging opportunities to highlight homelessness throughout the UN;
- acting as a source for relevant, current data and best practice; and
- helping cities and countries use evidenced-based methodology and outcome-oriented systems in order to implement coordinated and targeted programs to end homelessness.
Priorities as an Inclusive Data Charter Champion:
As an IDC champion, IGH will further engage with global cities to build tools and capacity around collecting disaggregated homeless data in order to increase data-driven decision making to improve services. In our partnerships with global cities and advocacy at the UN, IGH will also work to increase the number of cities and countries conducting accurate and representative measurements of homelessness. This work aims to increase the visibility of homelessness and drive accountability within communities and governments.
