Christian Aid (CA) stands together for dignity, equality and justice. Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of their dignity and lets injustice thrive. For over 70 years, we have been standing with the poorest of our neighbours, working with local partners and communities to fight injustice, responding to humanitarian emergencies, campaigning for change, and helping people claim the services and rights they are entitled to.
CA aims to dismantle the root causes of extreme poverty and enable the voice and agency of the poor and marginalized. We are committed to reaching those most in need by addressing the root causes of poverty, speaking truth to power and building local and collective agency. Our understanding of how to address and eradicate poverty is based on poverty, power and prophetic voice
Priorities as an Inclusive Data Charter Champion
- Add our voice to calls for the use of more inclusive data to steer delivery of the SDGs and the human rights frameworks that underpin them. This include championing the five principles of the IDC.
- Join a global community of practice to learn from others and to share our learnings to drive inclusive data forward to empower citizenship.
- Share our progress on our commitments to improve the quality of our programme data, particularly SADD and the documentation of learning and perspectives emerging from and programmes and partners.
- Ensure that our advocacy is well informed and evidenced by data disaggregation to make inequalities visible in the contexts we are working in.
CA's IDC Action Plan is in development.
