The Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data supports country partners at the national and sub-national levels in the Philippines to develop and implement whole-of-government, multi-stakeholder data roadmaps for sustainable development.
The Philippines is committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is at the forefront of this endeavor and is searching for various means to generate and monitor data for the 230 unique indicators and 169 targets of the 17 SDGs.
In response to the greater demand for high-quality, granular, and timely data brought upon by the SDGs, the Philippines is exploring the possibility of harnessing information from alternative sources, which may complement and augment statistics gathered through conventional methods. It is in this context that the PSA, in collaboration with the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data, the Partnership in Statistics for Development in the 21st Century (PARIS21), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) jointly conducted a national SDG data workshop in October 2016.
