Mission

Coordinate and manage the social registry nationally, designing and implementing data collection and information management systems that allow government service providers to identify potential beneficiaries of social programs and state subsidies.

Vision

Be an entity that guarantees the provision and quality of information contained in the social registry database, and that it supports the policymaking process, as well as the implementation of social programs and state subsidies that improve people's lives.

The Social Registry Unit is a government agency in charge of managing the social registry of Ecuador, as well as maintaining, updating, and dissemination of its database.

Its main work is to coordinate and manage the social registry nationally, designing and implementing data collection and information management systems that allow the creation of a cadaster containing individualized social, economic, and demographic information at the household level and family nuclei, as input of the entities that provide programs, services, and social subsidies for the determination of their beneficiaries.

Priorities as a partner of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data

It should be noted that the institutional management of the Social Registry Unit is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), mainly SDG1 and SDG10, and is an active governmental actor in the fulfillment of the priorities established in Ecuador's National Development Plan, which is also framed in context of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.

Its main objectives are to keep the information in the social registry database updated and to increase the quality, timeliness, relevance, and availability of the information entered into the registry. The social registry, in accordance with the established index, allows estimating the levels of well-being of the family nuclei, which is why it is defined as an indispensable technical tool for the Ecuadorian State that facilitates the application of social protection policies and programs and state subsidies.
