The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is an international consortium of more than 525 companies, government agencies, research organizations, and universities. For over 20 years the OGC has enabled our members to work in a consensus process to develop publicly and freely available geospatial standards.
OGC standards support interoperable solutions that "geo-enable" the Web, wireless and location-based services, and mainstream IT. OGC standards empower technology developers to make geospatial information and services accessible and useful with any application that needs to be geospatially enabled.
Priorities as a partner of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data
OGC is committed to working with governments, the private sector, academia, and research organizations to develop the necessary open standards to ensure we are all able to share location and map data easily to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
