Itaipu Binacional is the result of a partnership between the governments of Paraguay and Brazil. The organization runs the hydroelectric power plant at the Itaipu Dam, one of the largest dams in the world.
Itaipu Binacional works with the Global Partnership and the National Institute of Statistics of Paraguay (INE) to collect data on water quality at Itaipu's Reservoir, and feed this data into Paraguay's Water Information System. This helps the country to track and make progress on SDG 6: clean water and sanitation.
