On September 17, the Global Partnership co-hosts an event celebrating Cambodia’s successful graduation from the 50x2030 Initiative, hosted by the Cambodia National Institute of Statistics, and co-organized with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Bank, and the 50x2030 Initiative.
The 50x2030 Initiative is a multi-agency partnership that helps low- and lower-middle-income countries bridge the agricultural data gap. Cambodia was one of the first countries to join the Initiative and, through this partnership, has transformed its agricultural data system. By building the capacities of national data systems and users, Cambodia is connecting data to decisions, enabling evidence-based policymaking in agriculture and beyond. Over six years incredible progress has been made, culminating in the successful graduation of Cambodia from the 50x2030 Initiative.
This full-day celebration will showcase the achievements of the Cambodia National Institute of Statistics (NIS) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) in implementing the Cambodia Agricultural Survey (CAS) and highlight how CAS data are being used by the MAFF and NIS, as well as national and international organizations, to support evidence-based policymaking. The event will also provide an opportunity to reflect on lessons learned and discuss future priorities for strengthening Cambodia's agricultural data system.
