As the COVID-19 pandemic has swept across Africa, a group of civil society and academic representatives led by Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data Technical Advisory Group members, Open Institute and DataReady, discussed how data used as part of the COVID-19 response should be governed in more transparent, inclusive, and accountable ways. The Restore Data Rights movement has emerged as a result of these discussions.

This event, hosted by the Global Partnership, Open Institute, and DataReady brought together stakeholders across the digital rights and data for development communities in Africa and beyond to look at how data values can be aligned across all communities.
