Youth Advocates Ghana (YAG) is a national youth development organization based in Ghana.

The mission of YAG is to create space for youth participation in decision making and to contribute to development, policy influencing, and meaningful participation.

Over the past 3-4 years, YAG has been implementing the Voice Africa`s Future campaign in Ghana which is a youth-led data-driven initiative to generate and contribute to the monitoring of the SDGs. In February 2017,  YAG conducted citizens hearing on SDG 4 (Education) and SDG 8 (Employment) which generated human stories based on the principles of leaving no one behind. The final report of this hearing was shared in a national multi-stakeholder dialogue in Accra with key inputs from government, UNDP Ghana, UNICEF, and Civil Society Organizations.

In Ghana, youth participation in data generation, use, monitoring, and review is particularly important given that the majority of the population and hence beneficiaries on the continent are youth. Youth can play a lead role in data generation and its use in order to inform the delivery of the SDGs, thus accelerating effective implementation of the SDGs during the 15-year delivery period.
