Administrative data is the data produced by official data owners, for example, government agencies who manage citizens’ tax information. There is an urgent need to strengthen the capacity of national statistical systems to use administrative data to ensure more informed decision-making. In 2020, the UN Statistical Division and the Global Partnership established the Collaborative on Administrative Data to leverage the potential of administrative data for better data-driven policy-making.

This ISI Conference event organized by the Global Partnership and the UN Statistical Division looked at the lessons national statistical offices have learned from the Collaborative on Administrative Data. The Global Partnership and the UN Statistical Division were joined by country partners NIS Chile and the National Statistics Bureau of Bhutan.
