In terms of statistics, the ILO hosts the International Conference of Labour Statisticians since 1923, one of the oldest existing statistical standards setting mechanisms.

The International Conference of Labour Statisticians meets roughly every five years. Participants include experts from governments, mostly appointed from ministries responsible for labour and national statistical offices, as well as from employer’s and worker’s organizations. Observers come from regional and international organizations and other interest groups.
