There is a large unsatisfied need for more timely and granular data and statistics to help inform decision making, including on the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development.

The Data for Now initiative was established to support countries in:

  1. better responding to these needs through increased collaboration between the National Statistical System and decision makers;
  2. increased use of innovation and data integration, and;
  3. improved partnerships and involvement of actors from civil society, academia and private sector.

The work has already yielded evident results, some of which are presented here.
