For activism such as the defense of rights and the impact on public policies, mapping in open spaces can become an act of documentation, monitoring, and visibility of phenomena and the conditions of the space for the purposes of promoting decision-making.
This session will be an induction to open mapping accompanied by a practice of three opensource open mapping mobile applications (Streetcomplete, Everydoor, Mapcomplete and/or KartaView/Mapillary) - very intuitive to learn - to map elements outside the conference room , as an activity to raise awareness of the cartographic act. People will map various elements, test the three applications and return to a collective space to share impressions and doubts, and also reflect on possible uses in their professional field linked to public policy or research.
