Radical Flexibility Fund is a new organization working to improve the current foreign assistance and private foundation funding model to more efficiently and effectively get resources to individuals, networks and civil society organizations. The Fund works with stakeholders and clients to gather information about new financing approaches; uses that information to design and facilitate processes led by grassroots organizations to effectively and sustainably resource work in their communities; supports the generation of locally-led knowledge; and, monitors and disseminates the learning and impact of these new approaches.

Through #RadicalFlexibility we will demonstrate to other decision makers that it is possible to #ShiftThePower through new funding approaches to achieve durable social change.

Priorities as a partner of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data

Radical Flexibility Fund will accelerate a new era of locally-led social change by investing in people and communities - supporting their priorities and their financial sustainability plans so that they that work.

We do this through:

  • Collaborative identification of local social change priorities with NGOs and communities
  • Engaging a broad range of donors and investors to leverage nimble, catalytic funding
  • Using more flexible, inclusive, and sustainable tools than grants
  • Adaptive learning, information, and data sharing across countries, and advising funders on ways to change their practices

Our adaptive learning and innovation approach is at its heart, circular ensuring information is transferred between local and global levels.

We base our approach on a robust and constantly evolving process of evaluation, learning and adaptation, combining thinking, and working politically with strong monitoring, evaluation, and learning to achieve impact.

We start with existing effective local solutions and gather more evidence and data on their impact and efficiency, turning this information into knowledge. We aim to share out this knowledge more broadly and look to learn from others and support the collective ecosystem in achieving the SDGs.
