The Inclusive Data Charter commitment is joint by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs) and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs Nigeria (OSSAP-SDGs) is responsible for the coordination, and policy formulation of programs designed to achieve the SDGs
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) is the country’s statistics hub providing overall coordination of the National Statistical System (NSS).
Nigeria’s IDC action plan aims to drive inclusive data actions for marginalized and vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls, older persons, Persons with Disabilities, homeless, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), indigenous populations, refugees, migrants, and the minorities who experience the highest degree of socio-economic marginalization.
The action plan serves as a blueprint for the relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and institutions at both National and Sub-national levels to adopt based on their priorities and local context in given Nigeria’s decentralized context, which comprises of the Statistics Agencies and line MDAs at both national, and sub-national levels.
The action plan outlines a series of principles and strategic actions, to foster a culture of data inclusivity, promote the collection of disaggregated data to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of data management, allocate resources, and drive more targeted interventions that will benefit all.
