Mars Omega is a specialist information consultancy helping clients navigate market entry in complex operating environments.
We have developed our JIGZAW web-based intelligence and planning platform to support this service. We also make JIGZAW available to wildlife conservancies to help to develop sustainable community institutions that use and own wildlife conservancies as a source of income, cohesion, and identity.
JIGZAW was a finalist in the 2016 USAID Wildlife Crime Technology Challenge regarding our work in Kenya.
Priorities as a partner of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data
We believe our JIGZAW system can assist collaboration on unstructured information. This is the information people are reluctant to share because its not obviously anonymous and it can therefore be very sensitive.
It is this information, when properly evaluated and processed, that will provide the insights into the 'road blocks' (usually people and organisations) that are actively preventing progress on SDGs. The JIGZAW system, in the right hands, can collate and visualise this information in any context and help inform how best to negotiate the road block. We already used the system in Kenya to help our sponsors anticipate and prevent conflict.
