IDEAS For Us (IDEAS) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Orlando, Florida creating global solutions to environmental issues through local action, since 2008.

We develop ideas, fund solutions, and scale local action projects to a diverse audience of stakeholders at every level of society including colleges, universities, K-12 schools, local governments, businesses, and minority/marginalized groups. These solutions leverage community partnerships, utilize mobile technology to organize action and input data and innovate traditional environmental action by building cross-sector collaboration.

We are experienced in working alongside large public entities in mutually beneficial partnerships, as IDEAS has held “special consultative status” through the United Nation’s Economic and Social Consortium (ECOSOC) since 2013. Additionally, we are a contributing member of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) since 2015, and IDEAS Founder and President of our Board of Directors, Chris Castro, was part of the International UN Youth Under 30 group that met in Brazil for Rio +20 in 2012 to help design the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

IDEAS delegates have lectured and held workshops at the United Nations New York Headquarters in 2014, 2015, and 2016 regarding our programmatic success in advancing SDG 7 and SDG 13 using our methods, workshops, metrics, and indicators.

Priorities as a partner of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data

As a grassroots organization that develops, funds, and scales local sustainability action, we understand the urgent need to remove barriers for global collaboration and funding among individuals, governments, businesses, and grassroots partners.

IDEAS For Us directly addresses this need by providing citizens with online tools to mobilize action, propose new sustainability ideas, and collaborate. Our platform assists development partners in aligning their SDG priorities with those of their governments with our user-generated data.
