Governments, companies, NGOs and individuals need good data to know where problems are, how to fix them, and if the solutions are working. But current data is not good enough.
We need to produce the right data, to the right people, at the right time, in the right format.
To achieve the full potential of data-driven development, it will be necessary for all stakeholders – government, the private sector, development organizations, and the public – to work in coordination to bridge these gaps.
Ultimately, our ability and firm resolve to analyze and act on data will be the key to better policymaking... by taking action together to harness the power of data for sustainable development, I am confident that the global community will be all that much closer to achieving the aspirations of the post-2015 development agenda.
